Mele Accociates Hiring for Logistics Specialist at Albuquerque, NM, United States Full Time

MELE Associates, Inc. (MELE) maintains a contract with the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Counterterrorism and Counterproliferation (NA-80).

MELE is seeking a Logistics Specialist to assist (NA-80) in the planning and execution of exercises, drills, training, and operations related to their mission.

The focus will be on coordination and facilitation of logistics for Department of Energy (DOE) / NNSA Nuclear Emergency Support Team training events and directly ing to the Federal Lead.

In addition, the Specialist will serve as an on-call member of an emergency response team to support emergency operations in Albuquerque or in support of deployed field assets at remote locations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

• Develop schedule for DOE training events with Federal Planners and for logistic planning purposes. Liaise with DOE officials, FBI, and National Labs in coordination of Nuclear Response training.
• Create, conduct, and maintain logistical inventories.
• Develop logistic support plans for Nuclear Incident Response efforts. Supervise facility request for the organization and coordinate maintenance support with vendors as needed.
• Manage logistic purchasing and reconciliation as directed.
• Produce logistical documentations and manage financial budgeting and forecasting efforts.
• Provide technical support to a broad range of logistics and exercise related policies, meetings, exercises, and responses, including clearance request and badging issues.
• Create, manage, and maintain logistics records and associated databases.
• Create, manage, and maintain database of federal training.
• Track logistical issues and topic areas that cross programmatic boundaries which impact the Nuclear Incident Response program.

The Specialist must be able to brief and interact at Senior Leader levels and will include direct working relationships with interagency and international partners.

• Coordinate and track multiple logistical plans, policy, and program initiatives.
• Support the development of an application for Capability Forward as directed by the client.
• Serve on call when required, typically for one week each month, and to work within two hours of notification. Must be willing to support emergency response operations and incident management with an on-call requirement including after hours, extended shifts, and weekends.
• All other duties as assigned.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :

• U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a DOE Q security clearance with SCI Access.
• The candidate’s written consent to conduct a background check for the purposes of obtaining a security clearance may be required as a condition of employment.
• Certain positions requiring a security clearance may require the periodic successful completion of a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination.
• Ongoing reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal substances may be conducted as a requirement for ongoing access to DOE sites.
• Able to sit for extended periods and perform work in an office environment, including extensive use of computers, under sometimes stressful conditions.
• Able to work after hours, extended shifts, and on weekends when required during emergency responses and exercises.
• Travel may be required. Travel will be best cost to the government and only economy airfare and economy class rental cars will be allowed.
• Able to lift 50 pounds, carry your own luggage, and walk up to a quarter of a mile to work locations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

10 years’ emergency response program experience with an emphasis on radiological and nuclear response logistics and expertise.

Experience working with the interagency on matters related to radiological and nuclear response recommended.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Proficient in Adobe and SharePoint.
• DFO Deployer Logistics and Logistics Communications / DFEAT Exercise or Drill Completion. Radiological Worker I & II Certification.
• Willingness to work directly with clients in an environment that changes rapidly; must possess a mature approach to the personal interactions between a consultant and the client.
• Must be an independent, self-starter with excellent organizational skills and an ability to multi-task and be comfortable working with a team of technical experts in varying fields of security and emergency operations disciplines.
• Ability to track and monitor documents from inception to production.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
• Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously.
• Must be able to professionally deliver technical briefings and material in a Senior Leader environment.
• General knowledge of agency organization and structure.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :

• Understanding of DOE and NNSA Strategic Mission.
• Completion of relevant emergency management course curricula, such as : FEMA ICS-100, ICS-200, IS- 700a NIMS, IS-800b.
• Forklift St Truck Class 5 with Hands-On experience.
• Experienced Emergency Management and program support services regarding planning and operational issues affecting Emergency Operations for the DOE / NNSA.

LOCATION : This is a full-time onsite position in Albuquerque, NM.
