Purpose of Position

Working independently under minimal supervision, engineers, optimizes, transforms, and supports enterprise level IT tools.  Conducts analysis, creates system customizations, develops, tests and implements solutions based on business and technical requirements using knowledge and experience to architect and deliver end-to-end automated solutions which includes workflow customization, process automation, report development, dashboard creation, and system configuration within an enterprise level environment.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) 

Acts as the subject matter expert within the various IT enterprise tool sets and consult with clients and IT in support of the company’s IT strategy, overarching business requirements.

Evaluates, designs, develop, and debugs applications/workflows/forms which deliver requirements while maintaining well performing, stable, accurate system foundation.

Provides expert technical assistance and consulting support to clients. 

Researches and analyzes strategies, programs, and processes across and between all enterprise functions.

Collaborates with IT teams to identify technical deficits and improvement opportunities in current practices and procedures.

Designs configuration within IT tools at an enterprise level and coordinates with resources at an Enterprise/Global level.

Configures and administers various enterprise level IT tools.

Supports and designs integrations with other IT solutions or custom solutions.

Acts as the expert and lead for less experienced IT systems analysts.

Designs and administers enterprise-level solutions on UNIX and Windows based servers.

Solves unique, complex problems related to infrastructure and application service management.

Performs any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent work experience. (Typically, 4 years of additional related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor’s degree).

Prior Job Experience

Three to five years’ experience in business software application design, development, reporting, and system administration. Experience with web technologies and web services including APIs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated system integration experience building integrations with other external partners, managed service providers, and other 3rd party tools. 

Consultative and business analysis aptitude including communication and interpersonal skills that enables understanding of clients’ needs.   

Ability to define requirements and provide effective solutions.  Good understanding of enterprise level tools and of structured analysis and technical design concepts. 

Technical knowledge with hands-on experience in Java, C# .NET, PL/SQL, Powershell, and other new and current computing programming languages.

Knowledge of Object Oriented Design, application architecture and methodologies.

Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills at a complex level. 

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of writing purchase justifications, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with clients, peers, and all levels of management.

Demonstrated experience with applying complex principles into business applications.

Project management skills, including the ability to develop and monitor work.  General understanding of NERC CIPS and SOX regulations applied to IT systems.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

General office environment. No physical demands required. Availability to work any shift including holidays in a 24 x 7 x 365 work environment.
