Job Summary

Creates, leads and supervises a high performing, customer and new hire-centric onboarding team in support of MedStar Health’s talent acquisition strategy. Manages the onboarding strategies and processes and drives continuous process improvement. Serves as the primary point of contact and collaborates with internal stakeholders to deliver a best in class new hire onboarding experience. Manages vendor relationships associated with the onboarding function. Ensures all new hire documentation meets Federal, State and local regulatory and collective bargaining unit requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Training

Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field.

Experience

10 years progressive strategic and operational talent acquisition experience. Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.

License/Certification/Registration

SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.

Demonstrated ability to manage projects in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Must possess attention to detail and analytical skills with demonstrated commitment to data integrity and regulatory compliance. Proven success working in a talent acquisition function using data, metrics, process improvement and team motivation. Proactive and solutions-oriented; responsive and service oriented. Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills. Must be self-motivated, collaborative, resilient and willing to continually drive process improvements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Leads the strategic direction and execution of the talent acquisition onboarding team and services; drives excellence in client and candidate experiences.

• Participates in ongoing process improvement and workflow audits for onboarding processes.

• Develops and fosters relationships as a talent acquisition onboarding subject matter expert (SME) in partnership with recruiters and key groups utilizing established service-level agreements (SLA); identifies business challenges; recommends, implements and measures innovative talent onboarding solutions.

• Leverages relationships with internal partners (e.g., recruiters, Occupational Health, HR) and external partners (e.g., applicant tracking and pre-employment vendors) to implement onboarding strategies and measure outcomes.

• Contributes to the achievement of established department goals and objectives and adheres to company and department policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety standards. Complies with governmental and accreditation regulations.

• Maintains knowledge of current governmental and accreditation regulations impacting new hires.

• Partners with members of the HR team and hiring leaders to provide education and awareness of onboarding practices.

• Utilizes data and metrics to analyze trends and scenarios; performs gap analysis to reconcile the differences between the current and future state needs and develops a detailed onboarding action plan.

• Ensures team consistently meets or exceeds metrics and delivers on start date deadlines as assigned.

• Directly responsible for providing hands-on support for legal inquiries.

• Creates and updates onboarder training guides and provides ongoing training to the team.

• Participates in meetings and on committees and represents the department and hospital in community outreach efforts. Participates in multi-disciplinary quality and service improvement teams.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
