Job Description

Under the general direction of the Claims, Director of Operations, The Director of Hospital Operation’s primary responsibility is the development and implementation of Hospital business strategy. Provide oversight, direction, and support to ensure Hospital Operations are following regulatory requirements.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Develops and implements strategy which leads to improvement in market share consistent with MedPoint’s core values.
• Assesses market development strategy and industry trends as appropriate, leading to the generation of innovative ideas to improve current business plan and achieve desired results.
• Demonstrates excellent formal presentation and interpersonal communication skills that result in understanding of, and commitment to, strategic initiatives.
• Demonstrates exceptional financial management and analytical skills while leading the annual business planning process and preparing forecasts.
• Analyzes data to make fact-based decisions and monitors variances to understand facility trends
• Represents the organization in Operational, Board, Committee, and health plan Meetings.
• Assure team has the information and tools necessary to perform their functions
• Coach and mentor teammates for growth and departmental needs
• Provide management with feedback regarding departmental functions.

Minimum Job Requirements

• An undergraduate degree in Business, or appropriately relevant field, is required. An advanced degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or Public Health is strongly preferred.
• 5+ years in managed care, with a background in hospital capitation/dual risk agreements.
• Knowledge of healthcare organization and administration and of standards and laws applicable to managing strategy.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements
