What will the job role be?

The Finance Manager will be responsible for supporting and improving the finance function as the company scales. The Finance Manager will prepare financial statements and accounts, monitor financial performance and spend, process payments, provide financial reports and support the CFO and wider Medicspot teams to make better financial decisions, so we can provide quality healthcare accessible in every community.

• Support the CFO in developing the finance function as the company scales and reporting and compliance requirements increase

• Design and roll out new/automate existing financial processes and controls

• Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

• Lead month-end process ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded and filed (bank & merchant account reconciliations (e.g. Stripe, Paypal)

• Support preparation of management accounts and financial forecasts

• Produce automated reports to provide accurate financial and operating metrics to SMT

• Business partner with Operations team to support decision making

• Support budgeting process across business lines and perform variance analysis

• Assist with audit queries at year-end and during due diligence processes

• Assist on tax compliance, including CT, VAT and R&D

• Supporting the payroll process as required

• Working on ad hoc projects across the business

• Train an upskill a talented Finance Associate

Who are we looking for?

We need an experienced accounts/finance professional with a natural aptitude for figures and the ability to take ownership of parts of the finance function to support rapid business growth. The team needs someone who is organised, energetic and meticulous, able to hit the ground running and get the job done.

What you will need:

• Min. 3 years experience working in a similar role for a high growth organisation

• Appropriate financial qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACA, ACCA)

• Demonstrable experience providing financial administration, financial reports and supporting the month-end process

• Confident using accounting and transaction processing software (e.g. Xero, Dext, ApprovalMax)

• Strong technical knowledge, especially regarding controls and process implementation

• IT literate with advanced Excel skills and the ability to adapt to new systems quickly and easily

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Experience in or exposure to startup/scaleups

• Willingness to get involved, grow with the organisation and develop professionally

• Experience in VAT reporting with partial VAT exemption (desirable)

• Advanced knowledge of financial modelling and forecasting (desirable)
