Medicago Hiring for Health Safety and Environment Technician at Quebec City, QC Full Time

Your role:
The incumbent of this position is passionate about EHS, has strong collaboration skills and likes things to be organized. He(she) is motivated by working with others and making the work environment safer for all though his(her) problem solving ability and creativity.

The incumbent will spend a good portion of their time on the production floor, laboratories and administrative areas to ensure best safety practices are being followed, particularly related to drug product manufacturing, laboratory setting, project support & maintenance operations. Therefore, the incumbent must be driven, independent, organized and structured.

This role will work closely with his(her) EHS colleagues in both Quebec and in the USA. He(she) will receive coaching and proper guidance based on his(her) expertise level.

What your days would look like:
Serves as an EHS subject matter expert;

Support the departments in the overall EHS program implementation and recommend ways to continuously improve it;

Ensure the “first responders” team is compliant and trained. Support them as needed.

Coordinate the overall training plan;

Develop and facilitate in-house trainings;

Conduct regular walkthroughs throughout all facilities for identification of facility/jobsite hazards and risks to prevent injuries, spills, or other EHS&S impacts and to ensure compliance with company and customer-specific safety standards and government regulations;

Conduct accident investigation and completed related tasks such as notification, report, correctives measures and lesson learned;

Compiles and reports Environmental, Health and Safety data for corporate reporting;

Ensure compliance with Environmental permits;

Assist employees with Ergonomics concerns;

Collaborate with managers, supervisors and staff to institute corrective actions for unsafe and/or potentially unsafe acts, conditions, or equipment;

Manage the SDS database and lead chemical inventory activities;

Develop and distribute communications on EHS related topics;

And many other interesting tasks.

Required profile:
Associates or Technical Degree in relevant field

Experience: 2+ years in EHS

Bilingual French and English;
