The Role You Could Play

We are looking for a dynamic, experienced and innovative Event Specialist to deliver the magic that is eventing at MECCA! You will be responsible for delivering an engaging program of physical and virtual events, brand activations, experiences and live streaming, which bring the rich MECCA experience to life across Australia and New Zealand – powerfully launching new campaigns, brands and products and featuring increasingly sophisticated digital and social integration. This role is critical in MECCA’s vision to deliver global best-in-class retail experiences, distinctive memories and brag-worthy moments for our customers.

As an Event Specialist, you will ensure that any MECCA event delivers on its brief and objectives such as brand awareness and engagement, education, social engagement, footfall and revenue. The role requires highly organised end-to-end event management, working with numerous internal and external stakeholders to seamlessly deliver every stage of event production from strategy and ideation to design, planning and evaluation. The role has a strong focus on creating industry-leading external consumer and PR events, as well as supporting the wider MECCA Event team on internal events.

Some of your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assume responsibility for the successful end-to-end delivery of external-facing MECCA events, experiential activations and livestreaming in line with the overarching Marketing Campaign and Brand Strategy and achieving all designated KPIs
• End-to-end delivery of store-based events such as new store openings, Beauty Loop events and brand founder / spokesperson events
• Prepare and maintain all safety and OH+S documents relevant to each event (concept designs, critical paths, site plans, risk assessments, JSAs, run sheets etc.)
• Manage a strong network of brand-aligned suppliers and partners

What You Will Bring

You will be a creative and innovative thinker with extremely high attention to detail and problem-solving skills. In this highly collaborative role, your exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management skills will be paramount to your success, alongside an outstanding ability to influence others across all levels within the business as well as external suppliers and contractors.

In addition to a passion for beauty and an instinct identifying trends, our ideal candidate will have:

• Strong experience as an Event Specialist or Producer within the beauty, fashion, luxury or event industries
• Experience in custom-build fit-out, production, and large-scale brand activations
• Exceptional project management skills including planning, communication, time management, delivery pathways and negotiation
• Extensive technical knowledge of events and brand activations including experience design, activation infrastructure builds, AV and production, event admin, OH+S and risk management skills
• Strong analytical skills and ability to make data-driven, concise decisions
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a fast-paced, flexible, team-based environment
• Experience with Design platforms such as Adobe Suite, CAD, SketchUp or similar is highly desirable
