Mears Destination Services Inc Hiring for Taxi Parts Selector Full Time

Full time SAT – WED (days off are Thurs/Fri)
$15-$18/hour commensurate with experience.

Distributes parts from in house stock to mechanics. Assures proper control of the parts inventory and related administrative functions using a proprietary work order system. Update computer inventory, keep fast moving inventory stock current for services and deadline work. Assures each item taken out of inventory is properly accounted for so all numbers match up during spot checks and control reviews. Takes incoming calls from the shop, makes outgoing ones to vendors and dealerships to request price quotes and other information. Notifies parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention. Notifies the shop manager when all parts have arrived and when they will be delivered. Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns to vendors, or stocks those items not picked up or required. Issues and tracks requested shop tools to technicians. Keeps front and rear counter areas clean and uncluttered. Keeps current on new products and product updates. Receives, inventory and put away daily shipment of parts and all shipments delivered company wide.

This job has physical requirements as heavy parts and boxes are delivered regularly. Use of forklift, carts and dollies will be frequent.

Pick up or move items up to 20 pounds – multiple times daily
Pick up or move items up to 40 pounds – several times daily
Pick up or move items up to 60 pounds – several times weekly

• Valid driver’s license
• Clean DMV and criminal record
• Parts or mechanic experience a plus but not required
• Forklift experience a plus but not required
