Library Associate The Learning Center
Function: Performs tasks that impact The Learning Center library operations.
Scope: The Learning Center, Patient Education. Interaction with patients, families and staff.
Essential Job Functions:
Medical Reference Desk
Performs all duties consistent with the delivery of reference service in The Learning Center. Performs duties related to borrowing and lending library materials. Provides excellent customer service in patron facing interactions. Provides assistance for patrons on technology and patient health portal. Refers in-depth patron research questions to Librarian or Health Education Specialist in The Learning Center. Rotates coverage of email reference service. Rotates coverage of AsktheLibrary in patent health record portal.
The Learning Center Operations
Performs duties consistent with acquisition of the collection including receiving and unpacking materials, prepares materials (books, AV, pamphlets, periodicals) for circulation. Prints brochures and pamphlets for patron use, maintains inventory of slatwall and display materials, orders print materials as needed, and performs shelf maintenance. Checks mail and cleans public computers. Maintains Rotary House Learning Center slatwall and pamphlet inventory.
Patient Education Operations
Support Patient Education publication distribution on a regular basis. Support departmental asset management as needed.

REQUIREMENTS
Education
Required: Bachelor’s Degree
Experience
Required: Two years of library experience. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis. Public facing customer service experience in any setting.
Preferred: Experience in an academic or medical library.
