McMillen Jacobs Associates Hiring for BIM Professional Job at Sydney Full Time

Our Sydney office is seeking a Project BIM Professional to help create new BIM approaches and techniques tailored to the underground design and construction industry. This position will take your skills beyond the confines of vertical construction into large scale infrastructure projects typically exceeding $100M construction cost primarily focused on underground rail and highway design as part of a federated model that incorporates other design such as M&E, architectural, structural. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design and construction with a minimum of 10 years’ experience delivering/documenting construction projects via BIM methodology. This position will collaborate with our engineering team and develop our designs, document our deliverables, and enhance our work product through the value of 3D modelling.

Responsibilities

• Guide our company’s efforts to implement a fully integrated BIM delivery in parallel with engineering design as required on a project specific basis.

• Bring lessons learned from more traditional BIM markets to the evolving heavy civil BIM market.
• Provide guidance on industry best practice and innovations to facilitate efficient BIM delivery; with consideration for level of detail the resources required and consistent delivery standard to the satisfaction of our clients

• Coordinate / Manage BIM scope and workload with the engineering team as well as other technical members in our CAD department
• Oversee operation, maintenance, and enhancements to BIM implementation as part of the engineering design delivery in the heavy civil environment
• Coordinate, monitor, and provide BIM Support
• Work with BIM professionals in other regions to develop and implement BIM standards tuned to the unique requirements of underground design & construction projects
• Leverage the value of BIM to enhance the communication, development, analysis and documentation of our design deliverables.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of relevant BIM experience using Autodesk’s Revit and/or other software relevant to the provision of BIM models
• Experience with BIM authoring/analysis tools such as AutoCAD 3D, Civil 3D, SolidWorks, Sketch-up and NavisWorks
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including verbal and written
• Effective time management skills
• Ability to provide direction and guidance to others
