The Role:

Detego Global is on the lookout for a Software Development Manager to manage the Development team and oversee the processes of the company’s Development and QA teams.

This role will provide the right candidate with the opportunity to work on some extremely rewarding projects including the development of impactful software while working with a friendly and supportive team. The role has a strong opportunity for growth and will play an integral role in helping shape the company’s development processes.

Place of Work:

• Hybrid working – Remote (up to 4 days a week) with at least 1 day a week in our office in Horsham

Compensation:

• Negotiable depending on experience.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Managing the Development and QA Teams: Take a lead role in reviewing employee performance and ensure teams are motivated and working to develop themselves, as well as helping the company deliver on its targets

• Recruitment and training: Manage the recruitment of team members for the Development and QA teams and ensure those who join settle into their roles and become part of the team

• Process Management: In co-ordination with the lead developers, ensure our development processes are optimised to be as efficient as possible, and help the company achieve its goals and targets

• Oversee the Product Roadmap: Help prioritise the roadmap features so that product releases can be done efficiently and in a way that helps achieve business requirements

• Ensuring Continuous Improvement: Be a driving force in helping the Development team deliver constant improvement to our development processes

Skills and Experience:

• A solid coding background with experience in code repo management and build processes

• Strong knowledge of the SDLC, and managing release processes. Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall project management processes and latest software development techniques

• Experience in leading the implementation of automated testing (integration testing and unit testing), and experience in manual testing

• Good interpersonal and communication skills, capable of presenting work and leading meetings with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders to agree next steps

• Ability to assess risks and issues, identifying the root cause and deliver solutions

Salary: £55.00-£67.00 per year
