Who You’ll Work With
You will be based in our London office as the leader of our recruiting team.
You will partner with the leadership for talent, professional development and the client-facing leaders and teams reliant upon the London recruiting team.
Your client-facing leaders and teams will depend on your proactive and creative approach to finding the best talent to serve our clients. This will require the development of key relationships with your partners in office leadership, practice leaders, human resources, compensation and learning.
You will also develop strong relationships with your counterparts in other offices in the EU market to ensure that there is a highly effective process in place to align the talent needs on a local and regional level.
What You’ll Do
You will set and drive strategy and innovation to deliver against integrated recruiting aspirations working with recruiters, consultants, leadership, recruiting counterparts in other offices/cells as well as professional development.
You will manage, develop and coach the London recruiting team. You will build and nurture a team environment where members are goal-oriented, supportive and focused on achieving team and overall recruiting objectives. You will work closely with recruiters on day-to-day challenges and strategic initiatives to ensure the success of McKinsey’s recruiting initiatives. You will also be responsible for hiring, professional development and the feedback and evaluation process.
You will advise London leadership on recruiting priorities. You will also serve as a thought partner and counselor to the office manager, recruiting partner and people leadership to drive recruiting strategy (e.g., growth forecast and target setting) and innovation. You will continuously examine end-to-end recruiting processes and identify areas for improvement. You will drive key strategic recruiting priorities as well as lead and contribute to key recruiting processes and operations (e.g., senior hiring, interviewing batch days, diversity efforts, referral events).
Your team will ensure data quality and drive key analyses under your leadership. You will monitor CRM input (e.g., interviewing outcomes and data hygiene) and conduct analyses on outcomes to drive discussions and decision-making with recruiting team and leadership. You will oversee pipeline management towards diversity aspirations and targets. You will guide tracking towards London integrated hiring targets and manage incoming pipelines to ensure targets are being met with the appropriate mix of profiles (e.g., women and diversity, engineers, experienced professional hires, etc.). You will also manage consultant support, help excite and mobilize the consultant group to appropriately engage and support recruiting. You will provide input and perspective to recruiters on how to best leverage local partners and consultants.
You will also partner with professional development, learning and HR. You will work closely with the professional development, learning, onboarding and HR team to ensure appropriate sharing of information and to manage the effective onboarding and integration of all new hires. You will represent the London office regarding Europe-wide strategic initiatives and best practice sharing. You will work closely with European recruiting managers and recruiting centers of excellence to coordinate and lead cross-cutting initiatives that affect Europe recruiting overall. You will manage the budget, set and monitor the yearly recruiting budget. You will also guide recruiters to own office-specific budgets, regularly track and manage spending, and ensure firm resources are used appropriately.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Previous team leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of
Strong personal presence and interpersonal skills; easily able to interact with partners, professional development managers, recruiting managers, and recruiters
Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively and to discuss and debate ambiguous and/or contentious issues
Record of outstanding judgement and professionalism
Ability to write clear, persuasive PowerPoint documents; comfortable with Excel and data analysis
Outstanding organizational and administrative skills; detail-oriented and resourceful Experience with project and change management is preferred
Self-starter with a high energy level and deep commitment to the mission of recruiting distinctive talent to the firm
