About the opportunity

The Procurement Manager NSW/ACT s to the CEO of MJH and is part of the NEX Building Group national procurement team. In this highly rewarding role, you will develop and implement supplier and construction contractor engagement and management strategies whilst maximising outcomes including innovation, quality, cost and effectively mitigating supply risks. More specifically, your responsibilities will include:

• Oversight of all construction subcontractor, focusing on partnership, collaboration and diversity to deliver successful outcomes
• Negotiate subcontractor agreements across all trades in all regions to ensure safety, construction schedules and quality standards are achieved
• Plan, manage and coordinate all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of required products and inputs to meet the changing levels of product demand for residential construction projects across NSW in conjunction with our national procurement and supply chain team
• Applying a systematic approach to the development and introduction of new procurement solutions
• Understand, lead and support proper utilisation of available data to aid informed decision making, streamline processes, be customer centric and commercially driven
• Effectively negotiate to ensure Suppliers and Contractors product/labour rates are competitive whilst working closely with vendors to improve quality and reliability
• Produce and analyse s to ensure accuracy of information and provide insights on cost overrun and other critical metrics and data

About you

You will share a passion for our purpose to be Australia’s number one residential builder and be aligned to our core values. In addition, you will demonstrate:

• Demonstrated Procurement and/or Supply Chain Management experience
• Experience leading complex procurement activities with a diverse range of stakeholders
• An understanding of the labour supply base within NSW and relevant compliance and regulations
• Proven ability to partner with suppliers and subcontractors in order to develop long term relationships
• A continuous Improvement mindset to drive efficiency through the organisation
• Negotiation competencies and experience
• Ideally with an understanding of residential construction, project management
