Position Summary: McDonald Garden Center is looking for a dynamic, energetic, and talented
Content Marketing Producer to join our in-house marketing team. Rooted in Hampton Roads since 1975, McDonald Garden Center has developed a strong sense of community, which continues to grow throughout generations. We are looking for the right person to help execute that mission of making the Tidewater area a more beautiful place by creating content that inspires, teaches, and connects.

Location: The Content Marketing Producer will work mainly out of the Independence location but will also be responsible for commuting to job sites around Hampton Roads, gathering content.

Responsibilities:

– Grow our Landscape division’s marketing efforts through various channels including, but not limited to:

– social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest)
– how-to videos
– blogs
– informational signage

– Film, edit, and publish video content for website/social media for all retail stores.
(including Garden Markets) across various channels.

– Film, edit, and publish training videos for staff onboarding.
– Assist other members of the marketing team with additional content for social media and our website, including participation in strategizing sessions with key staff from other departments.

– Film, edit, and publish quarterly commercials for use on broadcast television, cable television, and OTT advertising.

– Assist marketing team with any administrative duties as needed.

– Utilize editing software to create graphics, visual assets, and other various marketing tools.

– Stay up to date on industry trends and advances in marketing best practices.
– Participate in some “on camera” social media marketing.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Advanced proficiency in Google Suite applications.
• Advanced proficiency in social media platforms.
• Advanced knowledge of editing software.
• Advanced knowledge of video equipment.
• Excellent creative thinking process.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and customer relations.
• Strong proficiency in digital media strategy.

Qualification:

• Associate’s degree in marketing (or related) required
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing (or related field) preferred
• 2+ years video experience
• 2+ years of marketing experience (required)
• 1+ years social media experience (required)
• Retail experience (preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34,394.21 – $86,115.60 per year
