EMEA COE Finance Director for Consumer BU

EMEA COE Finance Director for Consumer BU is responsible for leading, developing and building a specialist capability who are able to produce insight, analysis and reporting to support the business, recruiting where capability gaps exist. This role will be responsible for driving operational excellence through best practice adoption, knowledge sharing and process transformation to develop a global standard and ensuring a high-quality service is provided to the business. The Director will be required to build and manage strong relationships across Regional and Local finance teams and provide strong technical stewardship and direction to the CoE team, determining priorities and goals. COE Director will be owner of functional Standardization and harmonization by ensuring compliance with all processes and procedures across Consumer BU Finance.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership

• Being part of management teams, boards and governance bodies
• Lead, manage and support the talent and capability within the center of excellence group
• Coaches, mentors and develops the talent under their leadership, aiming to become a talent feeder for the rest of the business
• Manages and seeks development opportunities for their team members
• Solicits and provides feedback to build upon strengths and improve performance of the team

Strategic Partnership

• Lead, manage and support the production of regional reporting and strategic planning
• Oversees the production of analysis and insight to support the Regional FP&A team, Supply Chain Finance team and Commercial Finance team including portfolio investment analysis and strategic analysis support
• Works with the EMEA Finance Director for Consumer BU to ensure delivery of regional performance targets

Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting

• Owner of Consumer Finance Calendar
• Oversees the accurate consolidation of regional plans, budgets and forecasts within the agreed timeline
• Lead, manage and support the preparation of plans, budgets and forecasts consistent with Corporate Guidelines
• Lead, manage and support the production of value-added insights into the operating results of the business and make suggestions on how to overcome gaps and make improvements
• Oversees the first level of financial analysis on actual results of the region as part of the financial close process

Management Reporting and Analysis

• Lead, manage and support the preparation of management reporting and analysis providing meaningful and fact-based insights to support local and Regional finance teams
• Manages the ad hoc reporting and analysis requests, effectively delegating to their team and facing off to key stakeholders during busy times
• Leads and Manages the development of fact-based insight, analysis and reporting to support finance business partners including pricing and promotion analysis, scenario modelling, brand/ category portfolio analysis, business cases and CCI.
• Develop transparent and consistent F&F reporting and own P&L, drive GP improvement with Xfunctional teams
• Develop and manage Ecommerce P&L

Cost Management

• Full responsibility of A&P, SG&A of Central and across markets, develops reporting and tracking in order to drive improvements
• Provides oversight and guidance on the development of product costing for new and existing products
• Lead, manage and support the production of reporting and analysis to support pricing. Post launch analyses of each project
• Drive standardization of price development processes for the region
• Lead, manage and support the development of bottom up insights on cost management, driving cost efficiency across the region
• Reduce Customer claims
• Drive SLOB reduction

Balance Sheet Management

• Review, track and report Capex spending (159 Schedule) by assuring there is no overrun, spent according Group Policy and Savings are delivered; CIP capitalized on time
• Drive DSO improvement across region
• Accruals are reviewed on a monthly base

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
• Significant experience in senior level Finance Planning and Analysis required
• Typical number of years for this level of position is 10+ years
• Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel and basic proficiency of Power Pt & Word required.
• SAP/BW/TM1 experience desirable
• Proven experience to be able to interact effectively with all levels and areas of the organization
• Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of financial and analytical techniques
• Proven experience to be able to articulate difficult ideas and concepts through concise verbal and/or written communication
• Proven ability to be a strategic and critical thinker, with a deep understanding of business principles and practices
• Proven experience in being able to build and manage trusted relationships with senior finance stakeholders
• Proven experience in being able to influence solutions at senior finance leadership level and be able to say no and enforce governance models
• Proven ability to apply discretion and prioritize competing agendas
• Proven experience in managing, developing and motivating others to achieve results
