About the Role
McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust.) Pty Ltd are currently recruiting for a Human Resources Advisor to join our Major Road Projects Victoria team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in providing effective and efficient Human Resources Management services to the project and ensuring HR activities are in line with McConnell Dowell’s Global Operating Standards.

Responsibilities include:
- Provide Human Resources and recruitment assistance to the Project Management team, including liaising with external agencies and consultants.
- Prepare and conduct employee orientation/induction and introductory training so that new employees are quickly integrated into the organisation.
- Coordinate the entire employee life-cycle including onboarding, redeployment of existing employees and, when required, termination procedures.
- Responsible for all administrative duties in line with the employee life-cycle
- Engage with key stakeholders throughout the project to ensure accurate support and advice is being delivered for employee relations & human resource issues in line with local Employment Legislation.
- Take a lead role in coaching managers throughout the entire performance management process of employees including grievances in line with McConnell Dowell’s Disciplinary procedure.
- Identify and support training and development opportunities in line with the Business Learning & Development model.
- Frequent HR reporting requirements to the Head Office HR team.
About You
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or relevant discipline
- Must have between 2 to 3 years’ experience in the same or similar role
- Exceptional organisational and time management skills and demonstrated project management capability
- Must be mobile and willing to relocate to remote and regional areas of Australia
- Experience, knowledge and understanding of Human Resources issues and policies
- Must have experience with Chris21/iChris payroll and HR systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suites including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Be passionate about McConnell Dowell’s values of safety & care, honesty & integrity, customer focus, teamwork and performance excellence
- Have valid working rights in Australia
