Position Overview

Work with clients to provide bookkeeping support, including payroll and QB support. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other tax rules and regulations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable – establish and monitor client accounts; maintain collections and aging reports; reconcile client payments.
Accounts Payable – Schedule and pay vendor invoices; monitor vendor aging reports.
Track and manage all fixed assets for financial reporting purposes.
Develop compiled financial statements and sales tax reporting.
Assist with banking, reconciliation, deposits, ledger entries, office filing.
Assist with development and implementation of additional policies and procedures.
Process payrolls including direct deposits, generating monthly/quarterly/year end statements.
Trial balance and QuickBooks work.
Provide QuickBooks support and consulting. Train clients on managing their records in QB on an as-needed basis.
Project work – work with client to provide catch up of the year’s financial activity in order to produce tax return.
Maintain billable budget and utilization.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain acceptable attendance.
Assist with other duties associated with a full service CPA firm.
Address client concerns if primary Accountant is unavailable.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Education and Experience – 2+ years’ experience as bookkeeping or accounting clerk or comparable education experience.
• Bookkeeping – Proficient in the use of Quickbooks, CSA, and other software and be able to apply knowledge to problem solve.
• Team Building – Experience in working on project teams.
• Confidentiality – Has the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding client and/or employee matters.
• Multitasking – Has the ability to work on multiple projects at any given time.
• Communication – Has strong interpersonal skills and is skilled in communicating complex technical information so that it is understood by clients.
• Financial Reporting and Documentation – Understands content of financial reports: Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow. Able to interpret results and translate into focused actions and performance tracking through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in appropriate areas.
• Mathematical – Has the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages and to interpret financial reports. Can analyze performance against business plans and industry benchmarks.
• Technology – Proficient in the use of computers and computer software.
