Mazars Hiring for Finance Assistant Job at Milton Keynes, England Full Time

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will perform a key role in the finance function of a group of entities that both manage and develop commercial and residential assets.

You’ll be client facing and will work with external finance teams to maintain the day-to-day accounting function. The ideal candidate will have experience of running accounts payable, receivables and all round aspect of a finance function. Experience of Xero, Dext and Approval Max would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Review of purchase invoices and processing through the accounting platform
• Ensuring invoices are approved by correct department heads
• Maintenance of group creditor listing
• Updating daily cashflow tracker
• Preparation of payment run
• Bank reconciliations
• Liaise with agents to collect statements
• Prepare import templates with monthly rental and service charge movements
• Reconcile agent statement – b/fwd, demanded, paid and c/fwd balances
• Process staff expenses
• Maintain nominal ledger
• Monthly close of sales and purchase ledgers
• Reconciliation of major control accounts
• Initial review of trial balance

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• AAT qualified or ACCA or ACA part qualified
• Excellent knowledge of core cloud accounting applications including Xero, Dext, Approval Max
• Ideally would have knowledge of working in asset management, real estate or construction
• Deep understanding of accounting software architecture
• Experience of the purchase to pay process and set up of applications
• Analytical, with demonstrated examples of problem solving
• Good level of commercial awareness and an understating of various business models used in different sectors
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work well in a team, with strong people and time management skills
• Relevant recent experience working in a practice accountancy environment
• Comfortable liaising with individuals across all levels of a finance team including senior management
• Keen to enhance expertise and knowledge
• Ability to develop new initiatives to generate efficiencies and better ways of working
