Position description
Provides assessment and consultation for students with personal and/or school-related concerns. When appropriate, utilizes mental health expertise counseling skills to provide short-term problem resolution and/or educational guidance services. Participates in organizational behavioral consultations regarding individual learner and school relational concerns in order to enhance work culture and performance. Works with MCCMS Case Manager to follow-up with clients and management regarding service outcomes and satisfaction. Provides management consultations, and when appropriate trainings and presentations to address issues related to student effectiveness and relationship management techniques. Provides program orientation sessions and a variety of life seminars such as: art of communication, healthy relationships, parenting, stress management, testing anxiety, etc.
This position is a combination of remote and onsite support work. Individual must live within driving distance to the Mayo Clinic Arizona campus.
Qualifications
Masters degree in psychology, social work, counselor education, or related field. Must have two years post graduate experience providing short-term therapy/counsel in a mental health facility, college or university counseling service, or related human service profession. Experience working with a full range of normal life development client issues/concerns. Experience with a full range of psychological disorders. Strong speaking and educational training skills.
Additional qualifications
Experience counseling in higher education preferred.
License or certification
LICSW, LPC, or LPCC (others will be considered). Licensure requiring supervision will not be considered. Residential license required in counseling, social work, or related field. Expectation to be licensed in non-residential state Arizona, Florida, and Minnesota within two years of hire.
