We are seeking an immediate start working at Shared Services to assist in EOY financial processing.

Essential Requirements:

• experience in Government accounting systems and processes;
• experience on the preparation of complex balance sheet reconciliations; and
• good Excel skills

Duties include:

• Provide quality customer service, whilst building relationships with clients, and demonstrating respect, consistency and courtesy when dealing with written and verbal enquiries.
• Provide advice and assistance to clients in understanding their financial obligations, relevant accounting standards
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual taxation returns, accompanying reports and reconciliations, whilst ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
• Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements and related notes, processing of accrual and correction journals
• Assist in the administration of various financial accounting systems, to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of financial reporting and associated data to clients.
• Contribute to process improvements by participating in finance-related service delivery reforms.
• Undertake accurate and timely reconciliations including those associated with client bank accounts, subsidiary records, and complex feeder system transactions, including investigating and following up of outstanding items.
• Maintain the fixed asset register including recording asset movements, monitoring work in progress, performing reconciliations to the general ledger, preparing end-of-period reports, processing revaluations and assisting with unclaimed monies processes.

Technical or Expert Knowledge/Experience:

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner, whilst maintaining sound working relationships with all stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and in a team environment, to set priorities and work under pressure in meeting strict deadlines.
• Ability to use initiative and judgement with a strong commitment to service excellence.
• Ability to undertake financial analysis and present information clearly and concisely.
• Experience in preparing financial reconciliations accurately whilst maintaining attention to detail.
• Experience in contributing to business process improvement.
• Experience in general accounting, and reporting functions.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products including word processing and spreadsheet packages appropriate to a financial management and accounting environment, in addition to knowledge of the internet.
• Must hold tertiary qualifications.
• Hold a current NPC and Current vaccination details
