Max Process Equipment Hiring for Controls Engineer Full Time

Max Process Equipment is the world-leader in the manufacture of custom polyurethane processing equipment to meet the most challenging applications and performance requirements. We are seeking a Controls Engineer to provide Programmable Logic Controller(PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming for our customer’s applications. This position is a key technical resource, providing technical advice and support to all departments. We are looking for an experienced candidate that is a self-starter and who will take the lead in learning and understanding our technology.

Responsibilities:

• Write PLC/HMI code including design of HMI graphics
• Create “recipes” for our customer’s processes
• Program/Commission VFD’s
• Provide machine and process testing and troubleshooting
• Perform factory testing to ensure high product quality
• Recommend electronic hardware and support integration
• Document and maintain records of projects and PLC/HMI revisions of all machines
• Maintain appropriate PLC/HMI and computer software/hardware information
• Manage software licensing
• Maintain remote communication systems with customer’s machines
• Diagnose machine issues related to software and control devices
• Periodic domestic and international travel to perform machine installations/upgrades
• Support remote downloads for machine installations/upgrades
• Interface with key suppliers for control system related devices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with a minimum of 5 years of controls experience with advanced knowledge and skill in PLC/HMI programming
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) to create PLC programs
• Proficiency with Wonderware and Siemens supporting software
• Ability to manage multiple projects with flexibility while adapting to changing priorities
• Strong customer service focus
• Must be effective and comfortable in team-oriented environment
