Matt Burton Associates Hiring for Finance Assistant Job at Birmingham, England Full Time

Our Client is the UK’s biggest end-to-end commercial vehicle fleet management business managing and maintaining a fleet of 80,000 vehicles across 65 garages across the UK. They are looking for a Finance Assistant dedicated to one of their largest clients. Though this is part office / part home working role, we do require someone who can commute easily to Birmingham on a weekly basis.

The Finance Assistant will play a vital role within a small finance team in Birmingham which are dedicated solely to a bespoke client, responsible for supplier management, accounting, and intercompany billing. This role will deal specifically with the financial aspects of the agreement.

In return, the Finance Assistant will receive a salary up to £29,000 DOE, 22 days annual leave (not including Bank Holidays), attractive pension contribution, Life Assurance, Cycle to Work Scheme, Access to 1000s of Online Discounts plus other excellent health and financial wellbeing benefits.

The Finance Assistant will be responsible for:

• Supplier reconciliations
• Invoice processing, and cash allocation.
• Preparing intercompany billing, reviewing invoices prior to submission
• Suggesting process improvements within role remit to improving efficiency.
• Investigate and resolve queries with Reporting Units and Suppliers
• Ad-hoc duties as required

The Finance Assistant will have:

• Experience working within a finance department.
• Intermediate Excel capability – including, but not limited to, Formulae such as ‘VLOOKUP’, ‘SUMIF’ and ‘IF’ functions
• Ability to manage your own workload and work to tight deadlines
• Attention to Detail, always looking for discrepancies

Though not essential, it would be advantageous if the Finance Assistant holds a finance qualification (AAT or equivalent) or is significantly qualified by experience.
