ROLE

Matrix Tutors is looking for an English SAT Tutor, who is seeking to work with an innovative educational preparation company. Matrix Tutors focuses on individualized curriculum and emotional intelligence/personal growth of students.

The SAT Tutor will be tutoring High School students in the English portion of the SAT, helping them learn concepts and train their minds to master the format of the SAT.

This is a part time, Contractor role. The tutoring sessions are 1 hour 30 minutes each, with a maximum of 3 tutoring sessions a day. As a Matrix Tutor, you will be motivating students, and instilling limitless belief into them so that they can reach their highest potential.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Provide instruction to High School grade students in English SAT

• Lead students to not only master their grade levels but advance students beyond them

• Help students improve time management, focus, and problem solving ability

• Identify focus areas for student improvement

• Create tailored curriculum plans for students

• Schedule student sessions and issue homework

• Communicate responsibly and professionally with parents of students.

• Meet once per week with the Matrix Tutors team of tutors and emotional intelligence department.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Have a Bachelors or pursuing a Masters degree in Education.

• 3 + years of experience with tutoring, classroom education, or exam proctoring

• 1+ year of Curriculum Development (lesson plans, etc.) skills.

• High emotional intelligence and sound ethical judgment

• Ability to visually assess students’ attention and response, listening, and responding to their unique learning styles.

• Experienced in Online Learning Systems (taught in virtual classrooms, etc.)

• Flexibility in schedule and availability through the typical school year.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

• 1+ years experience volunteering for charitable causes

• Experience working in private schools

• PhD level of education

• Previous teacher
