The Recruiting & Retention Specialist is responsible for the recruitment and retention of company drivers. We are a well-established expedited freight transportation company located in Flint, MI. We are an upbeat environment looking for team players to join us as we continue to grow. A positive, can-do, roll up your sleeves, and get it done attitude is key.

We provide dedicated routes and expedited service in the automotive market. The ideal candidate for this position is seasoned in the trucking industry, with excellent communication and team-building abilities. Is familiar with multiple social media platforms for sales and marketing purposes.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the hiring of safe and professional drivers per company guidelines.
• Directly involved in the development of both short and long-term strategic driver recruiting plans.
• Works closely with both the Safety and Operations departments to accomplish company driver retention efforts for the organization to resolve and solve professional driver needs.
• Coordinates the application workflow process to be submitted to the Director of Safety for final hiring approval.
• Confers with other managers and supervisors to identify driver qualifications, duties, and expectations.
• Strives for continuous improvement in all aspects of the recruiting and retention efforts.
• Responsible for marketing activities to enhance recruiting leads on multiple social media outlets.

Skills

• Highly developed interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills.
• Diplomacy in conflict situations and strong interpersonal skills.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and flexible.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Computer proficiency with primary MS Office products as well as the ability to learn other applications as may be necessary.
• Proficient on social media platforms.
• Proficient in Tenstreet Recruiting Platform.

Experience

This position requires a minimum of five years’ experience in a transportation driver recruiting and management role. Compensation is based on experience.

Working Conditions

There will be a variety of working environments, including a typical office setting, trucking terminals, and drop yards. Employment may occasionally require weekend and/or nighttime hours.
