Construction Buildability Engineer

• Working with the design teams and construction planning teams you will be identifying all the relevant information required by the environmental topics in order to carry out the Environmental Impact Assessment for inclusion in the Development Consent Order.
• Reporting to the Construction Manager, – key Roles and Responsibilities will include:
o Preparation of plans to inform the environmental topics of proposed construction activities
o High level planning of construction activities to inform environmental assessment
o Preparation of construction sequencing plans to inform environmental assessment, stakeholders or respond to representations received
o Outline temporary works identification and planning (detailed design not required)
o Identification of key construction data required for environmental assessment including key materials quantities, workers, temporary works, plant
o Drafting reports describing the proposed construction activity
About you
• Have gained or be in training for Civil Engineering related qualification (HNC, HND, BSc MSc, BEng, MEng).
• Experience of delivering infrastructure projects, or simply willing to learn about construction process
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• The ability to manage your time and work within a team
• Thoroughly and accurately assess construction solutions and prepare, plans quantities and method data
• Willing to mentor and develop junior staff
• Experience in some or all of the following:
o Complex Traffic Management
o Structures
o Earthworks
o Roadworks
o Work in environmentally sensitive sites.
o Working within logistically constrained areas – such as Smart Motorway or Online widening environments
• Knowledge and understanding of a good range of highways disciplines including – earthworks, drainage, pavement.
• Use of CAD, Visio or Powerpoint for drawing sequences and explain construction activities
• Part home based if desired but willing to attend the team’s project office in Central London or site in Kelvedon, Essex.
