Matchtech Looking for Contracts Manager at Chester, Cheshire West and Chester Full Time

Matchtech are excited to be working alongside a major contractor in Cheshire, and as result we have a live requirement for an experienced Contracts Manager.

Based in Cheshire West the Contracts Manager will be reporting to the Divisional Manager. The Contracts Manager will be responsible for the Schemes Operations teams and to deliver Schemes works within the performance standards and KPI’s.

The role of Contracts Manager is an all-encompassing position of operational management. It will require the manager to develop, plan and execute the business in a highly structured way, to ensure growth, profitable returns and safety for all within the organisation. Training support will be essential to ensure that managers have the skill set to meet all the requirements of the role and this will be addressed through appraisal and training development.

The construction of the Highways Schemes in Cheshire West and Cheshire to include (but not limited to) Public Realm improvements, carriageway and footway repairs and reconstruction, drainage, vehicle restrain systems (VRS), temporary works, traffic management, road markings and signs, minor and major improvement works.

General responsibilities of Contracts Manager:

• To manage the operational Resources in line with budget and business plan leading a team of 5 supervisors.

• To work safely and promote a safe environment for all operations.
• To ensure the completion of weekly returns for all resources for cost capture.
• To develop staff and operatives within their areas of responsibility to plan succession and enhance the effectiveness of the people resources.
• To monitor the satisfaction of clients and work through the EFQM model to feed this monitoring through the business planning cycle.
• To monitor the performance of all resources to maintain optimum levels for plant and fleet utilisation, including the continuous development of the Programme of works.
• To develop and monitor the performance of production for quantity and quality, including daily KPi’s.
• To evaluate and analyse performance data to develop continuously improved productivity and performance levels.
• To work with the Divisional Manager to develop business plan targets for the future of the organisation
• To actively foster a positive staff morale.

Experience & Qualifications:

• HNC in Civil Engineering or similar
• SMSTS
• CSCS
• 5 years experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of NEC3 contracts
• Experience with TMC
