2022 Mastermyne Scholarship

This scholarship will provide recognition and financial assistance to a continuing student studying either an Engineering (Mining / Mechanical), Business (majoring in HR), Law, or Accounting/Finance course at an Australian university and willing to undertake paid work placement with Mastermyne in Mackay.

Up to $8,000 paid for the full Scholarship Program.
($2000 in Semester 1 and Semester 2 for full time students. A total of $4000 per annum.)
($1000 in Semester 1 and Semester 2 for part time students. A total of $2000 per annum.)

Paid work experience at Mastermyne in Mackay during study years (to be paid at entry level award rate and negotiated directly with Mastermyne upon successful acceptance)

To be eligible to receive the Mastermyne Scholarship an applicant must meet the following criteria:

• Be a continuing 2nd,3rd, 4th or Final year university student in Semester 1, 2022 / 2023
• Be studying a Bachelor, Associate Degree or Postgraduate course within:

• Engineering (Mining and Mechanical)
• Business (HR),
• Law, or
• Finance/Accounting

• Be enrolled at Census date of Semester 1 2022/2023
• An Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or holder of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa* with a permanent home address in Australia
• Not be receiving another Donor Funded** Scholarship
• Must be committed to undertake work placement with Mastermyne in Mackay during 2022 and 2023.

Applicants will be assessed on the application form and a written submission of no more than 500 words addressing the following:

• Career goals and how the Scholarship will assist you in achieving your educational objectives;
• Extracurricular activities – especially community and volunteering activities and demonstration of leadership.
• Life experiences

Applications must include all necessary supporting documents. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applicants will need to supply the following supporting documentation:

• Written submission
• Evidence of academic achievements or unofficial transcript
• Evidence of community involvement, exemplary work or demonstration of leadership
• Resume

As a donor scholarship recipient, you may be approached to assist with positively promoting the Mastermyne Scholarships program by sharing your experiences as a recipient through media and at events such as Open Day.

A selection panel, consisting of representatives from Mastermyne will be formed to determine the successful applicant.

A scholarship will only be offered where there is an applicant of sufficient merit. All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications as soon as possible after the selection panel meets.

The successful applicant is required to provide their current financial institution details (banking details) to Mastermyne’s finance team to administer this payment each Semester. This must be done prior to Census date Semester 1 2022 to avoid delays.

Payments will be made to the successful applicant upon receipt of Scholar’s university transcript. Payments are based on study load each term and will be credited electronically to the students’ nominated bank accounts.
