About the Role

Your focus will be on our purchase ledger for liquid-related and non liquid creditors/payments. You’ll play a key role in the team, supporting senior finance management by improving processes and creating a fully functioning Finance department.

• Carry out purchase ledger control for all liquid-related purchases assigned.
• Input all relevant supplier invoices received onto the accounting system and schedule them for payment on the Cash Flow Google doc.
• Match all relevant delivery notes received to the correct supplier invoice.
• Check all relevant invoices against delivery notes to ensure that we have received what we have been invoiced for.
• Check the price we have been charged against our original purchase order to ensure that we have been invoiced correctly.
• Email the stock department to inform them of any discrepancies so that a credit note can be requested.
• Assist with payment runs (fortnightly)
• Support Purchase Ledger Controller/wider team with month end duties as required
• Assist with non-liquid invoice processing
• Help with daily emails into the accounts mailbox (assigning to different areas of the finance team and/or actioning/responding to queries)
• Review systems and processes used within the purchase ledger and credit control teams
• Any other ad-hoc financial control duties

Experience, skills and qualifications

• Experience working in purchase ledger in a busy finance department
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Educated to ‘A’ level standard, with GCSE Maths in grade B or above.
• Familiar with Microsoft Excel; experience of Google Suite of apps would be useful.
