Job Description:

The Computer Support Services department seeks a staff assistant to
assist senior Information Technology team members with installing,
maintaining, reviewing and modifying the College’s computer
systems.

DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install and manage physical and virtual servers and storage
  systems in a virtualization environment including patching,
  upgrades, and security monitoring.
• Participate with application experts and third-party support in
  the installation and management of server-based application
  software.
• Configure and administer on-premises and cloud-based system
  software including tools for managing and distributing physical and
  virtual PCs.
• Support the desktop and network/telecommunications team in the
  development and troubleshooting of projects that utilize server
  resources.
• Develop technical design specifications based on
  system/functional needs and specifications.
• Maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with
  process owners, functional and technical team members, and
  users.
• Perform other systems administration activities as
  required.
• May serve in the on-call duty rotation by responding to
  emergencies in accordance with the department’s emergency response
  procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or 4
  years of related experience in the field.
• Experience in building and supporting complex, software
  systems.
• Ability to collaborate with individuals across the
  college.
• The position works, or has the potential to work on, the
  Criminal Justice Information Services system and is subject to
  periodic criminal background checks and fingerprinting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two years experience with database systems (SQL Server, MySQL,
  etc.)
• Familiarity working with a higher education ERP system, Banner
  preferred.
• Two years experience working as part of an information
  technology team.
• Experience with common programming languages such as C, Java,
  etc.
• Experience working with UNIX and Microsoft scripting
  languages.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time position in the APA bargaining unit. The salary
range for this position is $55,000 to $75,000, commensurate with
experience. The position will remain open until filled.
