The Role

We are seeking a talented Finance Manager with Infrastructure or Construction industry experience, who has strong all-round skills and a strong focus on Project Financial Accounting and Contracts. This role will support an upcoming rail project in Sydney and may be based from the site office, or either of our offices in Frenchs Forrest or Kirrawee.

Reporting to the Interface Manager, you will manage a small team and will be responsible for the full month-end/year-end close process as well as supporting the Commercial Manager in the production of financial statements, audit queries, and ad hoc reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate will be more than just a numbers person. We are looking for someone who can not only control costs & finances, but also someone with analytical skills balanced by an understanding of how projects and contracts run.

Experience Required

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Commerce (or industry equivalent)
• Full membership CA or CPA
• Proven background in and working on construction projects as a Finance Manager. Civils & Rail construction experience highly favourable.
• Demonstrable experience at a similar level ideally gained within a high growth and fast paced environment.
• Detailed project accounting experience.
• Manage the month end financials process, project financial reporting, and expected vs actual performance in a timely, complete and accurate way.
• Manage monthly cost / revenue forecasting, engage with and support the project engineering team.
• Managed financial processes. This includes cost codes, docket tracking, accounts payable, accruals, payment claims.
• Understanding of subcontractor and client agreements.
• Understanding of the overall project development requirements and stages of projects.
• Strong skills in SAP and Excel.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with key stakeholders
