Martha O’Bryan Center Hiring for Education Assistant (2022 – 2023 School Year) – Explore! at Nashville, TN Full Time

Supports teachers with all aspects of instructional and classroom management operations including facilitating student-directed learning, small group instruction, project-based learning and other instructional strategies.

Enforces rules of behavior and procedures for maintaining high functioning classrooms.

Helps implement assessments and review data.

Prepares materials and classrooms for learning activities and homework assignments.

Helps student develop productive learning and studying habits.

Participates in professional development opportunities and professional learning communities (where available).

Supervises children during mealtimes, transition times, and other miscellaneous events such as school assemblies or recess times.

Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to work with children in developmentally appropriate and kind ways

Proven ability to work as a member of a team with a commitment to his/her own learning and professional development

Capability to nurture students and work collaboratively with families

College degree or currently working toward college degree with educational focus

Additional skills that enhance students’ academic experience (e.g., multi-lingual, musician, carpentry, knock-knock jokes, etc.) are highly sought

In accordance with the Explore! Community School mission and values, Educational Assistants provide instructional and classroom management support in conjunction with one or more Lead Teachers and provides academic and behavioral support to a cohort of students.
