Marquardt Hiring for Manufacturing Test Engineer (Software) Job at Cazenovia, NY Full Time

We are currently in search of a Manufacturing Test Engineer (Software) to join our Industrial Engineering department of the Marquardt Group in our location Cazenovia (USA).

The Manufacturing Test Engineer (Software) designs, develops, and debug software applications for control/automation of test and measurement equipment using NI LabVIEW and TestStand. They are responsible for continuous improvement of measurement algorithms, techniques and reporting to improve quality and reduce overall test times. In addition to consulting with systems engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate measurement techniques and corresponding measurement data as they relate to operational performance requirements of new products.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Identify TE hardware and software required to meet specification requirements
• Identify and develop communication protocols from TE to device under test using CAN/LIN bus communications
• Work with NI PXI test and measurement hardware
• Assist in the identification and procurement of TE components
• Develop TE software
• Assist in the development of acceptance test procedures
• Support TE design verifications
• Prepare associated TE documentation and software in support of configuration management activities
• Participate in proposal preparation for TE design activities

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (5-8 years of experience designing complex test equipment preferred) or Masters/PhD degree (3-6 years of experience preferred) from an ABET accredited university or equivalent experience
• National Instruments CLA/CTA with 8+ years of experience using NI tools (LabVIEW, TestStand) , PXI chassis and 3rd party, box-level hardware
• Strong technical, analytical and critical thinking/reasoning skills
• Strong communication, team building and relationship building skills
• Must understand and apply engineering theories/concepts/principles to achieve technical specifications and objectives
• Must meet deadlines and projects within a set schedule
• Strong Office tool skills along with a general instrumentation hardware and software knowledge
