Maritime Transport Hiring for HR Manager at Felixstowe Full Time

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and hands-on HR Manager to add to the team and line manage the HR function. The role will report to the HR Director and will cover all aspects of HR function management.

This is a new role, and is therefore a great opportunity to make a positive contribution to both company and HR department success, and to work closely with the HR Director to move HR service, HR projects and HR strategy forward.

DETAILS OF THE ROLE

• Work closely with the HR Director to inform and progress HR strategy development and deployment across the business with associated projects and action plans.
• Ensure the provision of an effective, responsive and solutions-focused HR function to the business, working alongside and closely with the Payroll Manager and Training and Development Manager, as well as the Finance department and managers across the business.
• Be flexible in terms of mobility as you will be required occasionally to travel to sites to assist managers with employee relations issues and with training.
• Provide day to day management of the HR function including employee relations and resourcing, and play a key role on TUPE (experience desirable, but not essential) and any organisational change initiatives.
• Undertake any other duties as may be required for the effective operation of the HR and Payroll function, this may include cover for HR & Payroll team members e.g. for absence.

TO BE A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE YOU WILL NEED TO DEMONSTRATE:

• Experience line managing an HR function or part of an HR function.
• Experience undertaking HR projects, collaborating with stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work well as part of a team.
• A very good attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
• Drive and determination with a business-focus and a ‘can do-will do’ approach.
• Ability to occasionally visit sites to meet with and provide training to managers.
• Pragmatic approach and used to handling legal risk management and legal employment issues.
• System-savvy, used to extensive data analysis and system development / projects.
• CIPD qualification (level 5 or level 7) and / or equivalent experience.
