We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team based in the Melbourne CBD. This is a 8 month maternity leave cover required on a full time basis.

Main responsibilities of the role:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management reports and commentary for the Global team in the UK, Executive Team and Cost Centre Owners
• Coordinate the month-end reporting process
• Prepare month-end, quarter-end and year-end journals
• Coordinate and maintain the financial accounts and general ledger systems to ensure data integrity and maintenance of a common information base
• Establish and maintain effective financial accounting controls and systems
• Maintenance of the fixed-asset register
• Coordinate the quarterly stocktake process
• Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations
• Prepare all statistical and financial returns required by the statutory authorities including BAS, FBT, ACNC reporting
• Financial modelling and analysis to support internal stakeholders across the organisation with commercial decision making
• Assist with the annual business planning and quarterly forecasting process
• Review the fortnightly payroll prepared by the external payroll provider
• Coordinate the internal and external audit process

What we are looking for in a candidate:

• Fiercely Pro-choice and champion of women and pregnant people’s rights. Passionate about de-stigmatising abortion, sexual and reproductive health
• Tertiary qualified in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or CA qualification
• 3-5 years’ experience in Accounting/ Finance
• Experience in SUN finance system, SAP Concur (preferred)
• Reporting and analytics experience
• Strong attention to detail
