Description

Reporting to the manager, the feed production person works within a team to ensure safe, efficient operations, as well as striving to meet customer requirements all while keeping the plant clean and efficient.

We are looking for a mature employee that can take on some leadership within the team.

Currently for the evening shift which is from. 3:00pm – 1:30am, Monday – Thursday.; Training may be during the evening or day shift. Pay Rate is $18/Hr + $1/Hr Shift premium. Shift premium increases to $2 retroactive to start after 3 months of employment. That means you can make $20 per hour and enjoy a 3 day weekend year around.

Principal Accountabilities

Production

• Operate all equipment associated with the production of feed
• Bagging, sewing & stacking of finished product
• Load and receive incoming and outgoing trucks to meet plant requirements
• Collect samples as required
• Maintain a clean workplace
• Perform any other duties as requested by leadership team

Safety Awareness & Compliance

• Understand and adhere to Provincial and Federal Occupational Safety and Health rules and regulations as related to plant safety. Follow all safety rules and regulations & be a safety champion
• Attend and actively participate in all Safety meeting/training sessions
• Maintain a safe and sanitary atmosphere with a high regard for environmental impact of the operation

Miscellaneous

• Follow all feed safety, quality & regulatory guidelines
• Communicate in a courteous and positive manner to accomplish duties effectively, working as a team with all involved
• Assist plant personnel as needed, and perform other duties as requested by the leadership team

Qualifications

Required

• Employees be a minimum of 18 years old
• Must be willing and able to work shifts, including nights, overtime, weekends, holidays and additional hours beyond regularly scheduled shifts to cover vacancies
• Must be able to lift 25kg of weight
• Must be able to operate machinery
• Must be able to demonstrate high performance (work performance, attendance record, safety record, etc.)
• Must be able to read/write English

Preferred

• HACCP or quality system experience
• To have high school diploma or equivalent
• Be able to prioritize tasks and follow-up
• To have good time management skills
• 5 years of previous experience working in an industrial environment
• Forklift certified
