The Opportunity
As a member of the Poultry Business Optimization team, the Production Planner will be responsible for creating the production plan, conformance against the plan, and supporting purchasing duties for the Brampton facility. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, the Production Planner will ensure real time visibility on the surplus/deficit position, communication of plant capabilities/constraints, and act as a key team member for all new product launches and spec changes as they relate to Production Planning and Purchasing.
A snapshot of some of the exciting things you will lead and do:
Allocates raw material for production requirements. Determines/communicates surplus and deficit positions
Optimizes production sequencing and manages plant capabilities to ensure production requirements are delivered and service levels are met
Develops action plans together with Manufacturing and other key functional stakeholders as required to eliminate raw material, capabilities or any other constraints
Main point of contact for Manufacturing
Maintains and reports on production planning metrics
Responsible for providing real time visibility on aged inventory and WIP
Processes directives and price changes
Key member for the Brampton plant to support/lead new product launches and product spec changes
Works closely with other fresh facilities on managing packaging inventory levels and transfers
Responsible for issuing POs for all plant dry goods, PPE, and vendor services
Works closely with AP and Finance on resolving any invoicing discrepancies as they relate to plant POs
Manages relationships with outside vendors and Corporate Purchasing

What you will bring:
Experience in a food manufacturing setting an asset
3 to 5 years of experience in a related role an asset
A clear understanding of how to coordinate the efforts of raw materials supply, forecasting, supply planning, and the execution of a production plan
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Proficient in Microsoft office; experience with SAP an asset
Works independently, and solves problems with minimal consultation
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong customer focus and understands individual customer demands and requirements
Ability to build a strong working relationship with other functional teams
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment
