The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Accounts Manager in the day to day running of the finance function for Manitou Australia in accordance with Manitou Group controls.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Reporting

• Monthly preparation, analysis and reporting of revenue and margin
• Prepare, maintain accruals, prepayments and unearned revenue schedule
• Intercompany accounts reconciliation
• Monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
• Assist with budget and forecasting as directed by Accounts Manager
• Assist with audit process as directed
• Preparation of monthly BAS return
• Monthly Reconciliation of AUD, USD & EURO bank accounts

Debtors

• Credit checking and processing credit applications prior to approval by Accounts Manager
• Debt collection and maintaining debtors on hold
• Banking of cheques and allocating EFT remittances
• Reconciliation of debtor accounts
• Processing credit card payments including refunds, & refunds
• Monitor customer accounts details for non-payments, delayed payments and other irregularities – review with relevant department managers
• Reporting of Debtor performance and lease with Debt Collection and credit insurance
• Management of PPSA reporting

Skills

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Commerce
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Intermediate excel skills
• Strong written & verbal communication skills
• Experience of working within local and international structure
• Knowledge of G-Suite would be an advantage
