The Role:

Due to our continued success, we have a really exciting new opportunity within our growing IT department for an IT Business Analyst to assist in providing a full lifecycle business analysis function to the organisation, bridging the gap between business and technology.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

• Providing full lifecycle analysis to the organisation, whether at the initial analysis at an Initiative, Feature or Epic level, or as part of an Agile team at User Story level, for any type of business change

• Provision and continuous improvement of business requirements specification (functional and non-functional) through effective elicitation, documentation, refinement and communication to enable successful delivery of business change

• Provision of high quality Epics and User Stories including Acceptance Criteria, written in a structured manner that will allow delivery of a viable business product

• Promoting MVP principles to ensure requirements deliver what the business needs, working with the PM when applicable, managing scope creep to minimise spend and maximise benefits

• Ensuring that non-functional requirements such as security, scalability, resilience and usability are considered as part of business requirements for every issue and project

• Developing highly effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels in the organisation to understand vision and deliver the optimal solution; be the conduit between the customer/PM and the delivery teams (Scrums)

• Keeping the PMO and project managers updated with progress, challenges and blockers, escalating to the appropriate colleague as and when required

• Contributing to the definition and continuous improvement of business analysis best practice, including self-development, to maximise effectiveness and productivity

• An advocate of the implementation, governance and continuous improvement of the business roadmap, project framework, and Agile delivery processes.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

Essential

• Previous experience working in a business analysis function bringing diverse knowledge and understanding

• Excellent critical thinking, analysis and problem-solving skills

• Good business acumen, situational awareness, and strong emotional intelligence

• A solid understanding of the entire Software Development Lifecycle

• Exceptional drive and tenacity to get things done and deliver business value

• Excellent communicator, able to comprehend and translate technical or complex issues clearly to meet the competency level of the audience. Must be able to determine the appropriate level of detail to communicate to a variety of audiences

• Ability to extract business impact from stakeholders that report production faults or change requests

• Assertive and confident with a natural ability to facilitate conflict resolution but make tough recommendations and / or decisions when required

• The ability to command respect and be considered credible

• Proactive and passionate about continuous improvement and self-development

• Actively involved in Agile thought leadership and communities, looking for ways to improve and evolve current practice

• Consistently demonstrates integrity and high work standards.

Highly Desirable

• Experience work with or as part of an IT Operations and/or IT infrastructure teams

• Experience working as part of a Scrum team or another Agile framework.

Desirable

• Experience working at a software / technology company

• Experience providing BA support for existing solutions / integrations and assist with analyzing issues

• Experience in Ecommerce or retail

• Jira and Confluence experience.
