The role

As digital solutions roll out across MFT, effective IT support services become ever more important to delivering patient care. As a Software Tester you will be part of the IT Testing Team with key emphasis on the analysis and interpretation of current workflows and practices. Identifying the key business requirements of stakeholders/customers, analysing and documenting business requirements, and working closely with services across the Trust

The post holder will support user acceptance test planning and delivery; effectively developing a User Test Strategy that exercises a wide range of functionality, including common user-errors and FAQ’s.

The Software Tester will be responsible for developing, executing and documenting testing throughout test delivery lifecycles; working with and supporting the Test Lead.

Additional responsibilities include actively contributing to on-target testing delivery and contributing to system validation status. This role will have a large project focus but also be involved with ongoing enhancement and BAU activities and will have significant contribution to the output expected from a dedicated test capability.

Skills & knowledge required

You’ll ideally bring experience of working in or successful development and qualifications as a Software Tester. This should include a strong IT software or system support background, with development or aspirations as a tester. A strong skillset for problem solving, attention to detail and documentation are essential. You should be able to work as a team and independently with ease. You’ll thrive under pressure and be ready to work flexibly, including occasional unsociable hours of work where needed to support project go lives or changes.
