Manchester Metropolitan University Hiring for Tuition Billings Finance Officer Job at Manchester, England Full Time

We are looking for a confident and proactive professional to work as part of the Student Billings Team. We need someone who can work flexibly across the different areas of work the team covers to deliver a high quality service to our students and staff.

In this role you will:

• Process allocated financial transactions on the University’s accounting system (SAP), primarily the raising of accurate billings and associated administration in accordance with university and sector procedures and regulations.
• Allocate MMU’s Student Support Package (SSP) and Art School Stipend to eligible students.
• Check and approve refunds to students and sponsors in line with financial regulations.
• Audit and reconcile pricing and fee information across multiple systems to ensure students are presented with the correct fee at enrolment and are invoiced correctly.
• Be responsible for providing advice and guidance to students and staff on postgraduate research student billings.

You will:

• Be highly organised, proactive and able to work independently.
• Be able to fit into a well establish hard working team and offer strong team working skills and support.
• Have advanced skills in Excel and data manipulation, and, ideally, experience of working with SAP.
• Have an understanding of government funding regulations from all relevant authorities affecting student funding in the UK.
• Have worked within a busy office environment with large transactional volumes.
• Be a confident communicator who is able to build strong and positive working relationships.

The Student Billings Team ensure all University tuition and accommodation billings and adjustments are processed accurately in a timely manner (annual billings in the region of £240M), this also involves the collection and reconciliation of the Student Loans Company data relating to tuition fee loans and grants which is the University’s biggest source of income.

The Student Billings Team are also responsible for the management of all the MMU Student Support Packages ensuring robust systems are in place for all current and any new MMU support packages ensuring support is only awarded to eligible students in a timely manner.
