The Department of Accounting, Finance and Banking (AFB) is one of the largest departments in the North-West of England with over 1,500 students and around 55 dedicated academic staff. AFB is proud of being a dual intensive department, with a focus on both industry collaboration and developing cutting edge research. This allows us to provide innovative academic programmes, and to offer the best teaching experience to our students.

As part of an expansion in the teaching portfolio, the Department is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance. This post will build on, and enhance, our teaching activities and will contribute to both the School’s and University’s strong focus on providing exceptional education. We are looking for candidates with experience in the areas of taxation, financial technologies and sustainable finance and applicants with industry experience are highly welcomed.

Ideal candidates should be able to demonstrate strong potential for delivering high quality teaching in their areas of specialism supported by a strong understanding of industry trends, via their prior professional experience or research background. Successful candidates are expected to contribute to our innovative teaching delivery in the programmes offered by the Department and the School.

In recognition of staff contributions to the University’s achievements during the 2021/2022 academic year, an additional discretionary payment of 2% per annum will be added to your salary until 31/07/23 in order to ensure consistency amongst existing and incoming staff. This additional 2% will be paid pro rata in equal monthly installments, on top of your salary each month until 31/07/23.
