Manchester Metropolitan University Hiring for Education Services Officer Job at Manchester, England Full Time

We are looking to recruit an Education Services Officer to join Student Financial Support within our Education Services directorate.

Whilst the successful candidate will be based within Student Financial Support, staff will be requested to work flexibly across the wider directorate, if needed to support other key activities.

The Role

The Student Financial Support Team manages the university hardship fund which aims to help students experiencing financial difficulties. They also offer information and guidance on a wide range of student money issues. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for assessments of ‘Day to Day Support’ which is the main discretionary fund for students. This involves specialist and complex casework and decision making on applications. Candidates will also provide expert, high quality information and guidance to students on statutory and discretionary funding. You will play a key role in supporting and guiding our students through student related money matters, working alongside other specialist services within the University and the Student Union.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Feels comfortable taking ownership of defined areas of work within Student Financial Support
• Has a passion, ability and experience in delivering high levels of customer service and effective communication
• Can work flexibly to achieve team objectives by assisting others and working collaboratively to complete tasks and projects
• Has an understanding of student finance, regulations and procedures, and the ability to advise on student finance related matters
• Has experience of providing information and guidance within a higher education setting
