As one of the most applied to universities in the UK and with ambitious plans to diversify our student cohort, Manchester Metropolitan University is looking for a new Deputy Director of Student Recruitment and Admissions to help drive forward our activities and deliver significant impact.

The opportunity.

This is a new role, reporting to the Director of Recruitment and Admissions, which will play a pivotal part in supporting our university-wide student recruitment and admissions activities. We are seeking a talented and experienced individual who will become a visible presence across the University, supporting the strategic delivery of all domestic student recruitment, admissions and widening participation.

The postholder will make a major contribution to the development of student recruitment and admissions in line with the University’s vision and strategies. You will lead, contribute and support initiatives to significantly enhance student recruitment at quality and volume across all cohorts and levels of study.

About you.

We are looking for someone with extensive senior leadership experience in higher education including in some or all areas of student recruitment, admissions and widening participation. The successful candidate will also have experience of leading extensive change and process improvements and evidence a customer-centred approach with tangible evidence of delivering excellence.

Highly developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills are also a necessity as this role will be working with senior decision-makers including the senior members of the External Relations directorate, other professional services teams, and faculty colleagues. So, the capacity to be a collaborative team player, regardless of organisational boundaries is also critical.
