THE MALVERN TYRE GROUP – FINANCE MANAGER

The Malvern Tyre Group is a family run tyre retailer and wholesaler with over 70 locations spread throughout the UK. Due to growth, we have an opportunity for a self-motivated finance professional to join our accounts team on a full time basis at our accounts office in Bristol. You must be able to work well as an individual as well as part of a team and be confident in communicating with all levels of the business as well as external stakeholders.

The Role

– Preparation of month end management information

– Posting of month-end and year-end journals

– Bank reconciliations and cashbook postings

– Balance sheet & intercompany reconciliations including management of FAR and HP

– Communication of financial information to the Head of Finance

– Oversee maintenance of the sales ledgers and purchase ledgers

– Manage the small accounts team

– Preparation and submission of VAT returns

– Manage and oversee accounting policies and processes and identify areas for improvements

– Supplier payments including staff expenses

– Performing other tasks as requested by the Head of Finance

– Submit National Statistics

The Person

– Possess strong attention to detail and accuracy

– Be an effective communicator and able to develop good working relationships at all levels

– Is a flexible, reliable and enthusiastic team player

– Well organised self-starter, committed to getting the job done

– PC literate with strong Excel skills and experience with an accounting system

– Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise workloads and work within tight deadlines

– Will be experienced working in a fast-paced and busy environment

– Accounting qualification or QBE with experience of working within an accounts team of an SME
