About us:

We are an English language college located in a modern, purpose-built language school in King’s Cross. We have been teaching English to thousands of students yearly for over 20 years. Our vibrant college bustles year-round with students from all corners of the world. We have close connections with several British universities (including two colleges embedded within a university) and also run University Preparation programmes and teach Business, Mathematics, English for Academic Purposes and more.

The role:

We have an opening for an English Language Teacher (English as a Foreign Language) to teach a newly opening morning session for our students following a period of sustained growth. Whilst initially it will only be a morning session, there is a good chance the role will evolve into teaching multiple classes per day (if wished).

Required Qualifications:

– BA/MA degree (required).

– Cambridge Celta or Trinity TESOL, Cambridge Delta or Trinity Diploma in TESOL. BA or MA in TESOL. (required)

Unfortunately, we cannot accept other types of TESOL non-Trinity/Cambridge or online TEFL course certificates.

Working Hours:

12.5 hours per week (2.5 hours per day). Additional hours and the prospect of taking more classes are both a possibility, depending on the number of students in the college. There will be ad-hoc hours available for admin (writing reports for your students) and attending mandatory monthly training workshops (CPD, 1 – 2 hours per month).

Lesson timings:

10:30 – 13:00, every weekday (Monday to Friday).

Salary:

• Celta/Trinity Cert/BA: £14.73 per hour

• Delta/Trinity Diploma/MA: £16.23 per hour.

Holiday allowance:

• 28 days (including bank holidays).

Initial contract type:

Zero hours to begin with, progressing to fixed hours once a working pattern has been established.

What we are looking for:

The following are not essential, but desired:

• Experience teaching at a variety of levels.

• Knowledge of common EFL exams such as IELTS.

• Flexible and open to teaching a variety of levels and ages.

• Willing to develop as a teacher.
