About the role

The Finance team is looking for a trainee accountant who will have the following roles and responsibilities:

• Prepare bank reconciliations; maintain cash books
• Reconciliation and postings of expense claims / credit cards
• Brokerage receivable – cash receipts; cash allocations; aged debt reports & statements
• Accounts payable – invoices, payments, ad-hoc queries
• Brokerage payable – invoices, payments and month end control account
• Assist in preparation of month end management reporting
• Assist with withholding tax and VAT reclaim processing
• Assist with the preparation of the year end accounts and in the preparation of audit schedules
• Holiday / sickness cover for other Finance team members

The role will be working with a diverse team of accountants who have expertise in various fields including financial and management accounting, tax and regulatory reporting, which provides an outstanding opportunity for the successful candidate to progress their career to become a well-rounded finance professional.

Requirements

Essential:

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Great attention to detail
• Ability to work independently; quick learner
• Part qualified / QBE / studying – all considered
• Banking/financial services experience

Desirable:

• Experience of Sun Systems Accounting system

• Pro-active team player who is an effective communicator
• Able to meet deadlines and prioritise work
• Flexible approach and ability to multi-task and complete work within a dynamic environment.
