Major Recruitment (Newton Aycliffe) Looking for Technical Engineer at Newton Aycliffe, County Durham Full Time

My Client is well established, industry leading fabrication company. Based near Newton Aycliffe, they have seen year on year success, with further growth plans for 2022. The offer a range of services from Design through to Manufacturing. This has given the company opportunities to service a multitude of sectors, with a client base stretching across the UK. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Technical Engineer from a Construction/Civil background to join their team on a Permanent basis.

The role:

• To support Associate Technical Director to deliver strategic objectives
• Work collaboratively with key stakeholders and external clients including customers.
• To prepare system specification drawings & component drawings.
• Manage modifications of drawings as required.
• Dealing with and supporting customers with technical enquiries.
• To participate in and support offsite system testing as and when required.
• Office based but will involve an element of travel to support project delivery.
• Occasional visits to construction sites, suppliers and test centres will be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum HNC mechanical or civil engineering.

Skills

• CAD 2D 3D Solidworks, Autocad, Inventor. Knowledge of thermal or acoustic building envelope calculations an advantage. Excellent communication and organisation skills are required as well as exceptional attention to detail.

Experience

• At least 2 years experience within the rainscreen / façade industry
• Practical knowledge of metal rainscreen and other façade systems.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
• Working knowledge of construction site installation methods and practices including CDM regulations.
• Working knowledge of relevant building regulations including Approved documents.
• Understanding of relevant façade system testing including CWCT, British and EN standards
