ACCOUNTING MANAGER

The ideal Accounting Manager will be responsible for multiple clients’ accounting, financial and operational functions. Accounting Managers will work with multiple outsourced business office clients as well as manage staff. Client service and engagements are performed at both the MMJ offices and on-site at client offices.

Essential Duties for an Accounting Manager include:

• Provides financial statement preparation with analysis
• Directs all accounting functions including payroll, account receivables/collections, expense processing, taxes, and revenue recognition and reporting
• Strategic Business planning and creating, implementing and enforcing budgets as well as accurate projections
• Responsible for overall fiscal operations: directing internal financial programs and procedures, and maintaining useful relationships with outside partners and vendors
• Responsible for review of vendor relationships such as banking, insurance, leases, etc.
• Provides sound leadership in complying with financial and legal requirements
• Attend Board/Shareholder meetings
• Presents complex financial statements and analysis
• Manages the budget on an engagement
• Proactively manages client needs and ensures that client expectations are met
• Ensures that products are technically sound and that all professional standards are met
• Manages multiple client workflow
• Develops new client contacts and relationships beneficial to the firm
• Promotes opportunities to provide additional services to clients
• Trains, develops, manages and serves as a mentor to staff
• Updates clients and Partners on the status of an engagement regularly

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university required

Licenses/Certifications

• Licensed CPA preferred

Experience:

• 7 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years of experience in public accounting
• Experience managing staff
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong time management skills
• Flexibility; the ability to adapt to dynamic environments
• Creativity; able to apply a solutions-focused approach to business/accounting issues and problem solving
• Strong ethical behavior
• Energy and a passion for excellence
• Software: QuickBooks, Excel, Word
• Industry knowledge of Healthcare and Not-for-profit, preferred
• Knowledge of Sage products, Great Plains and CaseWare are a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $140,000.00 per year
