Magnum, LTD Hiring for Dispatcher at Fargo, ND Full Time

Essential Job Functions

• Coordinate the utilization of drivers, trucks and equipment to create capacity, maximize productivity and ensure prompt, courteous and efficient service to all customers
• Communicate with and dispatch drivers to appropriate locations according to customer needs
• Entering accurate and complete load information into Magnum’s computer system
• Review and audit driver logs to verify items shipped by matching bills of lading, reconciling quantities, noting discrepancies and monitoring errors, missing information or violations
• Ensure compliance with hours of service and other FMCSA regulations as well as company policies
• Participate in operational and Safety meetings
• Submit all necessary paperwork to Billing Dept. for accurate billing of customer
• Promptly communicate any delays, issues, or concerns regarding Customer loads/requests
• Assist with projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Work Characteristics:

• Prior transportation experience in Truckload/Local/Intermodal/Cartage/Broker capacity
• Ability to adapt and be flexible in an environment where priorities and load schedules are constantly changing
• High level of interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with drivers and customers verbally or in written/messaging format
• Knowledge of business processes, transportation and dispatch terminology
• Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and meet deadlines
• Participate in a team environment and communicate effectively
• Geographical knowledge of the assigned metro area and the Midwest
• Truckmate (TMW) and TMW Suite software experience preferred
• Familiarity with CSA principles and FMCSA regulations
• Goal oriented and able to set and achieve company or personal objectives established to ensure maximum productivity

The Dispatcher is responsible for supporting the Magnum LTD operations with direction from the Operations Manager. The primary purpose is to organize and conduct activities to assure safe, cost effective, on-time operating performance. Typical hours of this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.
