THE STAR ACADEMY TEACHER-FACILITATOR
Requirements for Star Academy Program Teacher-Facilitators
STAR ACADEMY TEACHER-FACILITATORS
The Star Academy teacher-facilitator works on behalf of the success of every student. The
teacher-facilitator is a prime member of this team because they spend the most time with the
students and daily have themost significant direct impact. The Star Academy teacher-facilitator
role emphasizes teacher-student interaction navigating away from a traditional lecture setting.
Successful teacher-facilitators create successful Star Academy students.
The teacher-facilitator has many responsibilities within the Star Academy environment:
- Provide academic and interpersonal support to students
- Facilitate hands-on learning environments
- Dedicate time outside of the classroom to explore curriculum, materials, and standards
documents
- Manage resources and time
- Attend professional development
- Teach and grade students
- Work with at-risk students
- Work with the Star Academy Liaison (SAL) and Educational Services Specialist (ESS)
REQUIRED SKILLS

- Displays the ability to provide instruction from a variety of methodologies and instructional
